DESIGN PROCESS:
Lee worked with production designer Deana Sidney for weeks researching and going over archival images and videos. After initial design ideas were established it was Lee's job to turn those into built sets.

The Scenic and Construction departments would then take over, using Lee's build and scenic the 24 stage sets and the 36 location sets. He was in direct communication on a daily basis with the showrunner, director, ADs, property master, decorators, and production designer. He would like to give a special shout-out to Deana. Thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime!

“Fashions change, but these crimes of the past never go out of style. It was an era of innocence when people left their doors unlocked, helped out neighbors in need, and trusted the ones they loved. But there were scandals occurring beneath the surface. Secrets festered, passions ran wild and cops had nothing but shoe-leather and gut instinct to catch a killer. These shocking events made an ever-lasting impact on the country.” - ID

For this series, Lee worked as the Property Master. They shot 2 episodes every two weeks, with one week of prep. It was a tight schedule with lots of demands, but also incredibly creative and exciting work, with very cool props to work with.

“It’s an iconic line in any crime story -- when a suspect is arrested, they get one call. This gripping true crime series uses jailhouse phone calls to frame the narrative of murder investigations steeped in mystery.” ID

Lee worked with Director Andrea De Brito to moody atmospheric shots full of depth. The final result was stunning. And while the new true-crime format focuses on the victim's story, rather than the perpetrators, the final result was both thrilling and clarifying.
